- We need to collect, retain and use your Personal Information in order to properly provide you with storage and related services. Generally, your Personal Information will be provided by you directly to Us, but We may collect information about You that is publicly available, for example from public registers or social media, or made available by third parties.

- your contact information (phone number(s), email address(es) and physical address(es);
- your identifying documents (driver’s licence number and/or passport details);

- We may also need to collect payment information from you, including your credit card, direct debit or other payment information, and We collect and retain information about your ongoing storage and payment history.
- When you use Our website or Our mobile application, We may collect information about your physical location and/or web activity including your IP address, your telephone number(s) and whether you’ve accessed or been referred to Us via a third-party site. Some of this website information We collect using cookies.
- If you choose not to provide Us with any Personal Information, this may affect Our ability to provide you with storage and related services.

Primary purposes of collection
We collect your Personal Information so that We are able to:

- ensure security of Our Facility and the goods and people within Our Facility;
- establish your identity and assess your application for storage and related services;
- contact you during the storage relationship;
- provide you with information about your account, including providing invoices and notices;
- provide you with information about Our business and related entities, including any of Our promotions;
- answer your questions about your account and Our services;
- manage Our credit risk, including enabling Us to undertake a search of the database and/or records of StoreCheck and/or any other credit reporting agency to which We subscribe (Credit Reporting Agency);
- undertake appropriate searches of any regulatory records or database, including a PPSR search;
- cooperate with enquiries from any government and/or law enforcement bodies and comply with Our legal obligations;
- enforce Our storage services agreement with you;
- provide marketing services to you under clause 6 of this Privacy Policy; and
- engage in any purposes which are incidental to any of the above purposes.

Disclosure

- We may disclose any information We have about you, including your Personal Information, as is reasonably necessary for the operation of Our storage services business or as is permitted by law, including, but not limited to, disclosure to any the following:

- Our employees, including temporary worker or externally contracted staff;
- agents and service providers engaged by Us, including providers of data storage services, IT services, software management services, insurance services and financial services;
- third parties engaged by Us to perform specific functions within Our business, such as auctioneers, second hand dealers, building contractors and providers of maintenance services;
- government departments and agencies;
- law enforcement agencies, including the police;
- private investigators;
- any person who can demonstrate to our satisfaction a legal or equitable interest in the goods stored by you with Us;
- Our Credit Reporting Agencies and providers of debt collection services;
- liquidators, administrators or other persons who may be appointed to administer your financial affairs;
- your alternate contact person as identified by you in your storage services agreement with Us, if applicable (ACP);
- other users of Our Facility or third parties who reasonably believe you have caused damage or injury to them or their property; and
- agents for any of the above.
- Some of Our service providers or other third parties to whom We may disclose your Personal Information (e.g. data storage providers), may be located, operate or hold data outside of Australia or New Zealand. You consent to your Personal Information being transmitted and held overseas. When information is sent or disclosed outside of Australia or New Zealand, Australian law and New Zealand law may not be applicable. However, We take reasonable steps to ensure that appropriate data handling and security arrangements are in place.

Alternate Contact Person
If you have provided Us with any Personal Information identifying your ACP, you must ensure that you have the right to disclose their Personal Information to Us and take reasonable steps to ensure your ACP is aware that:

- We may use their Personal Information in the same way We may use your Personal Information; and
- they may access and correct their Personal Information held by Us in the same way you may correct your Personal Information held by Us.

- You consent to Our use of your Personal Information to contact you for marketing purposes. You may opt out of such marketing (i.e. withdraw your consent) at any time by emailing us at jade@sandman.net.au
- We will not share your Personal Information with any third parties for marketing purposes and We will never sell your Personal Information.

Credit Reporting Agencies

- By applying to store with Us, including making a web or telephone enquiry, you acknowledge and agree that We may:

- undertake a search of the database and/or records of Our Credit Reporting Agencies, using your Personal Information;
- We may share your Personal Information with Our Credit Reporting Agencies to check, confirm or update your Personal Information; and
- We may refuse to provide you with storage or other services based on the information provided to Us by Our Credit Reporting Agencies.

- We will inform Our Credit Reporting Agencies if you breach your storage services agreement with Us in any way or engage in illegal or threatening behaviour, including but not limited to:

- not paying for Our storage or other services or being repeatedly late with payments;
- dumping or abandoning goods;
- being abusive or threatening to Our employees, agents or other storers; and
- engaging in behaviour leading to the involvement of law enforcement agencies with regard to your storage activities (including the execution of search warrants against you, your storage space or Our Facility generally).

Security
All personal Information is held in our vault.

- We keep your Personal Information in both hard form and electronic form. We take steps to secure this from misuse, loss, unauthorised modification, unauthorised disclosure and access. We employ physical security measures such as locks on filing cabinets and restricted access to hard files, as well as digital security measures including password protected computers and internet firewalls.
- When engaging third parties to provide services to Us, We take reasonable steps to ensure that such third parties take appropriate security measures when handling your Personal Information.

Access, complaints and feedback

- You can request access to your Personal Information, or request that We amend your Personal Information, by emailing a formal request to jade@sandman.net.au. Upon receipt of such a request, We will give you access, unless specific limitations or restrictions apply (i.e. We reasonably determine that the request is frivolous or vexatious or if providing such access would be unlawful). We reserve the right to charge any reasonable costs incurred by Us in providing such access to you.
- We will respond to a request for access to Personal Information within a reasonable period after the request is made and give access in the manner requested if it is reasonable and practical to do so.
- If We do not agree to provide you with access to your Personal Information or We do not agree to amend your Personal Information as requested, We will, where appropriate, provide you with the reasons for Our decision as well as direction on how to complain about Our refusal.
- If there are reasonable grounds to believe there has been a data breach involving your Personal Information, We will undertake a thorough investigation and if We determine that a data breach has occurred, We will report the data breach to you and any applicable regulatory authority.
- If You have any complaints about Our dealings with your Personal Information (including any breach of the Australian Privacy Principles or the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), or, in respect of New Zealand, the Information Privacy Principles or the Privacy Act 1993, or any other applicable legislation), You may email your complaint to brucesimpson@sandman.net.au.
- Any complaints received by Us will be investigated and We will provide a written response within a reasonable time. We may seek further information from you in order to provide a complete response. If you are not satisfied with Our response, you may refer your complaint to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner, or, in respect of New Zealand, the Office of the Privacy Commissioner.
